Digestion

A healthy digestive system that can absorb all of the goodness from food and supplements will help your dog fight off pathogens and infections as well as maintain the coat in a good condition
All food a dog consumes has to be broken down by their digestive system to allow the beneficial amino acids, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, etc to enter their blood stream.
To do this, the mixture of proteins, carbohydrates and fats that you feed your dog have to be dissolved by a range of enzymes into soluble molecules until they are small enough to penetrate the wall of their small intestine and enter their blood capillaries.
Illness, surgery, injections, taking antibiotics or just ageing compromises the level of digestive enzymes in the gut. To a dog this is a real problem due to their habit of swallowing food without chewing. Without additional support they will not be able to obtain the goodness, essential to their continued good health despite how healthy a diet you feed your pet.
